What is Hydro Seeding? The Benefits of Hydro Seeded Grass

Jan 11

The task has only just started after your lawn received the hydroseeding CT. You will need to give your newly hydroseeded lawn some TLC.

What are the best methods to get hydroseeding results?

  • Hydroseed should only be watered daily, and for between 10 and 20 minutes at a time.

  • The green color will fade in 2-7 days.

  • Watering should take place at 4:45 a.m. or 11:00 a.m., and 4:00 p.m. (Avoid the need to water at night)

  • Based on the weather and season depending on the season and weather, you can alter the watering. Regularly water and with slightly longer periods and less often during the cooler autumn months as well as to achieve shorter cycle.

  • For proper germination, the seeds must be kept in a moist environment. Hydroseeds do not have to be constantly saturated.

  • Do not leave the lawn with water pools on your lawn; instead, keep the seed damp and moist at all times. It is possible to reduce the frequency with which you water your lawn after about 4-6 weeks.

How can you keep hydro seeds healthy?

Germination can start in some places in 10-14 days. The lawn will be ready to be mowed in 6-8 weeks if there is enough growth. The lawn will be fully developed within 6-9 months.

In the initial six weeks, stay clear of traffic in areas where seeds have been planted.

Some areas will do better than others due to the variations in the amount of sunlight shade, water, and water. This is typical for all applications of hydroseed. When the lawn starts to get full after 4 to 5 weeks, it's a best practice to scrape the thin areas and plant some of them manually to encourage growth. For the best results, combine fescue with rye and Kentucky bluegrass.

It is highly recommended to apply an 18-24-12 fertilizer to your lawn two weeks after we hydroseed it. Three weeks following the application, you can apply another fertilizer to start. Do not apply any weed control products to your lawn for the first 10-12 weeks.

The weeds can appear on your lawn. They are easily controlled by a weed-control fertilizer after the grass has grown.

Approximately 5 weeks after the lawn was hydroseeded the first mowing will occur. To prevent damage to the new seedlings It is suggested to cut your grass when it's dry and with a push mower. Let the soil dry completely before beginning mowing. The clippings can be left on the lawn, but do not leave clumps on the lawn, as they may harm seeds.

Avoid allowing the lawn to get to a height that is too high. Then, you must cut the grass back to an appropriate height. This will injure your grass and make it difficult to get it back to its original state. You can hire someone to mow your lawn for you when you're on holiday or don't have the time to mow it for longer than one week. Do not cut down your lawn to more than 1/3 of its height in one mowing. It is best to let it sit for 4-5 days before you cut it down to about 3".

If your Hydroseeding CT is washed away due to the weather or any other reason, we will return to regenerate the area at half the original cost.
